Richard J. High is Chairman of the Executive Committee of John M. Corcoran and Company and serves as the President of Corcoran Development. Rick is responsible for managing the Company’s acquisition, development, financing and asset management efforts, and for developing its business strategy and direction. Prior to joining the Corcoran Companies in 1982 Rick was the Director of the Office of Housing and Neighborhood Development for New Haven, Connecticut. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Cincinnati and a Master of City and Regional Planning degree from Harvard University. He is a member of the Real Estate Finance Association and a Director of the National Multi-Housing Council.
Kevin S. Young, CPM®
President, Property Management
Kevin S. Young joined Corcoran Management Company in 1987. He oversees the operation of the management company's multi-family portfolio. Kevin is responsible for all of CMC's day-to-day operations including staffing, financial performance, operating practices, capital improvement planning and customer service. He maintains a streamlined and efficient organization and develops and implements property performance plans. Kevin also supports the company's development and acquisitions team with property assessments and due diligence. His industry experience includes extensive work with various types of third party owners and government agencies. Kevin is a graduate of Boston College and earned the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation.
Chief Financial Officer
Cheryl Penn joined Corcoran as Senior Vice President of Asset Management in 2016 before transitioning to her current role as Chief Financial Officer. Cheryl is responsible for directing the financial affairs of the Company and its affiliates. She is a CPA and CGMA with an extensive background in accounting and finance, including positions with previous employers as Controller, Director of Finance, and Chief Financial Officer. She began her career in public accounting where she was an Audit Manager at Arthur Andersen. Cheryl holds a B.S. in Accounting and Computer Science from Boston College; The Carroll School of Management Honors Program.
Carol Buonopane, CPM®
Senior Vice President
Carol Buonopane has been with Corcoran Management since 1983. She is responsible for the establishment, implementation and maintenance of a centralized document management system for the development, management and accounting divisions of the company. Carol earned her Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management in 1988. She is a graduate of Middlesex Community College, with a degree in Business Administration. She also attended Burdett College.
Nancy Gaudet, CPM® NAHP®
Senior Vice President
Nancy Gaudet joined CMC in 1990 and has held various leadership positions through her career with the company. She is responsible for staff development and training, strategic planning, day-to-day operations and business partnerships. Nancy oversees brand identity for new acquisitions, lease ups and the company. She serves on the Board of Directors for NEAHMA and chairs the Committee of Energy and Sustainability. Nancy earned her bachelor’s degree from Fitchburg State and her Master’s Degree from Northeastern University. She holds a Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation as well as a National Affordable Housing Provider (NAHP) certification.
Nathaniel Nichols, CPM® CPHM®
Senior Vice President
Nathaniel Nichols has worked at Corcoran Management Company since 1988. He is responsible for management strategies, financial planning and profitability, risk management and business development. Nat directs the day to day operations at the company’s properties and headquarters. He serves as a liaison with third party owners and government agencies. Nat is a graduate of Kenyon College and earned his MBA at Babson College. He has his Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation, a Certified Public Housing Manager (CPHM) designation, and is certified as a Tax Credit Manager.
Director of Sales & Marketing
Cynthia Buckley began her career with CMC in 1990 as a Leasing Consultant and Corporate Marketing Specialist. She later managed market-rate, affordable and condominium communities throughout Massachusetts until 2003 when she became the company’s Director of Sales & Marketing. Cynthia develops marketing strategies for the company’s market-rate and affordable portfolio, new acquisitions and lease ups. She is certified in Yieldstar Revenue Management, holds the designation of Certified Professional of Occupancy from NEAHMA and serves on the Board of Directors for the Rental Housing Association of Greater Boston. She is a graduate of Colby College.
Director of Capital Projects
Frank Corcoran joined Corcoran Management Company in 2002 with over twenty years of construction management experience. His primary role is to assess and recommend capital expenditure needs, including preparation of property-specific, five-year capital expenditure plans. Frank obtains and awards contractor bids for the work and ensures the work is of high quality, on time and within budget. He oversees vendor compliances with all applicable laws and regulations, specifically hazardous materials, insurance, and warranties. Frank is a graduate of Boston College and holds a builder’s license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Jeanmarie O'Brien CPM®
Director of Affordable Housing
Jeanmarie O’Brien rejoined Corcoran in 2017 as Director of Affordable Housing. Jeanmarie has extensive experience in the property management industry, overseeing multiple subsidy programs as property manager for Corcoran Jennison, Corcoran and more recently Regional Director for Trinity Management. Jeanmarie directs Corcoran’s Compliance Team in the preparation and implementation of Affirmative Fair Housing Marketing Plans and Tenant Selection Plans with the U. S. Department of Housing & Urban Development or State agencies. She oversees Low Income Housing Tax Credit, Section 8 project based, Tax Exempt Bond and MA 40B programs at the Company’s affordable and market-rate properties. Jeanmarie holds a BA degree from the University of Massachusetts Boston and the designations of Certified Property Manager (CPM) with the Institute of Real Estate Management and a Specialist of Housing Credit Management (SHCM) with the National Affordable Housing Management Association.
Director of Maintenance Operations
Gary Saltmarsh joined CMC in 1978 working within the Maintenance Department at a CMC property in Weymouth. He has held various other maintenance related positions within CMC and became the company’s Director of Maintenance Operations in 2003. Gary is responsible for the development of all maintenance policies and practices employed at CMC managed properties. He plans emergency maintenance response, negotiates utility contracts, and establishes contractor/vendor specifications for purchases. He holds certifications in CMC Training, Indoor Air Quality Assessments and Pool Operations.
Director of Information Technology
Charlet Sherman’s responsibilities include the direction and oversight of the company’s computer hardware, software, communication and networking needs. She joined the company in 1994 and served as the company’s network administrator for 12 years before being promoted to her current role. Charlet graduated summa cum laude in Accounting and Finance from Bridgewater State College and is a member in the New England Yardi Affordable User Group.
